Product Description
(Reflections & Records 1922 - 2000)
An A4 size book with lots of photos, and information about the famous Star Walk that took place between 1922 and 2000. I am sure all Sheffielders of that era will have fond and nostalgic memories of this great sporting event and will welcome this book. I remember after the war (I would be seven) my dad would take me every Whit Tuesday to watch the race, sometimes in town at Kemsley House (home of The Star), or sometimes at Barnsley Road. It was always spectacular, with crowds lining the streets, clapping and encouraging the walkers on. Malcolm Ayton author and walker in the races, has combined his recollection of the race with the records of runners over the years to give a fascinating enjoyable book.
